Shaq-- maybe???

Shaq Facing Unsure Future With Suns

Shaquille O'Neal | Suns
Shaquille O'Neal blames the Suns season's "athletic culture changes" for the team's demise and knows his future with them is uncertain.

"I'm sure there's going to be some decisions to be made," said O'Neal, whose contract expires with a $20 million salary next season. "It's not my job (to decide). There are two types of business owners. Do you want to win or do you want to save money? Period."

When asked which one Suns Managing Partner Robert Sarver was, O'Neal said: "I'm not sure. The guy over here (Dallas owner Mark Cuban) spends money. I don't think he's really worried about the salary cap. I've been around 17 years and that's what it is. You either want to win and don't really care about the salary cap or you want to be under the salary cap." -- The Arizona Republic

Of course the first question is do we want him? The second is will Cuban pay for 1-2 years of 70% Shaq? I think the Mavs are more suited to having Shaq than the Suns were.

  1. I was just reading the Eddie Sefko chat on the DMN blog that question was posed...this question sums up my thoughts perfectly:

"We're seeing a lot of rumors of Shaq coming to Dallas next year. Isn't Shaq on Dallas with Kidd & Dirk really no better than Shaq on Phoenix with Nash & Amare? Or does the coaching style of dallas possibly play to Shaq's strengths better?"

  2. What's up with the formatting here? I addressed this in the game thread for today, guess this confirms that no one is reading them.

  3. I don't think that Shaq gets us past LAL, Cle or Bos.
