ReplyDeleteI was thinking about seeding and crunched some numbers:
ReplyDeleteThe Mavs are 1 game back of Utah and play them once more in Dallas. I am not sure what the tiebreaker would be as their season series would be 2-2, but essentially the Mavs control their own destiny in getting out of the 8 spot.
Same goes for New Orleans, who is 2.5 games up, but the Mavs play them twice which means if they can win both, they can essential control their own destiny against them as well. The #6 see is a reasonable goal, which would put them up against Denver, Houston, or San Antonio.
Out of those 3 would you most like to play? The least?
I would say Houston most and Denver least.
Also, Portland plays 6 of their last 9 on the road where they are 16-20 on the season. They would need to go 5-4 the rest of the way out (and the Mavs would need to win out) to pass them to the #5.
