Hornets Game Thread 4/10/09
The Mavs have an excellent opportunity to move up to the #7 seed with wins tonight and Sunday. They need at least a split to keep their hopes alive. Tonight New Orleans is in Dallas which makes this the easier opportunity of the two. The playoffs are on the horizon and the Mavs are in for the 9th consecutive season, although some will not let us forget the mistakes of the past Let's chat about the game, the playoffs, and everything else Here

I can't wait. Looking forward to tonight. Also looking forward to next week when I can start watching all the games on TV instead of only on my computer.
ReplyDeleteNevermind- game on HDNet. Greatness.
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be a good test tonight. I am fired up for the playoffs.
ReplyDeleteThey turned on the league pass feed before coach and folliwell were ready. Greatness.
ReplyDeleteTiVo caught a gem for me yesterday...Game 3 of the 2001 Mavs-Jazz series. Young Dirk, Nash, and Finley at Reunion.
ReplyDeleteDammit. Looks like HDNet is blacked out. League pass it is.
ReplyDeleteI think I am gonna have to pony up for the TV package next year
ReplyDeleteI already get the NFL Ticket so I have been having a hard time justifying the NBA and/or MLB TV package, but I am getting close to just saying f it
ReplyDeleteI definitely will next year. I have the 2 previous. It's definitely worth it.
ReplyDeletethe Chris Paul to Dallas article by Tim MacMahon got picked up on CNNSI and is getting killed
ReplyDeleteSweet. I was wrong- on HDNet.
ReplyDeleteJ-Ho going to the hoop early is a good sign
ReplyDeletegood early energy.
ReplyDeletenice defense...shot clock violation
ReplyDeleteI like the transition game...the Mavs need to keep punching it in and send a message to NO that this isn't gonna be easy
ReplyDeleteAgree.
ReplyDeleteDamp- good energy. bad decisions
ReplyDeleteI will always take good energy from Damp regardless of the outcome. It's a lot better than passive, mopey Damp
ReplyDeleteDid you notice they had Wright locked up on Paul. I think Carlisle is trying to keep Kidd off Paul as much as possible
ReplyDeleteYeah- he's been doing that with Kidd early in a lot of games. Let him chill until the 4th quarter when the other pg is tired.
ReplyDeleteI think J-Ho has more no no no YES shots then anyone else in the league
ReplyDeleteha ha... yeah. I think it's great he's so rested.
ReplyDeleteKidd keeps taking Paul to the post, and they are throwing the double on him...Kidd just needs to keep finding the open man and making shots. Nice start...gotta keep the pressure on them
ReplyDeletePosey tried to punk Wirght and he didn't back down...I love it
ReplyDeleteno easy buckets
ReplyDeleteAgain. Love the energy!
ReplyDeleteThe Mavs are playing with a bit of a mean streak. I love it
ReplyDeleteBASS!!!!
ReplyDeleteHey Gents - just got done with dinner, got to a bar with the game on. Wow. Can you give me a quick recap of how we built this lead?
ReplyDeleteBass is a monster tonight...he must be looking for some revenge against his former team
ReplyDeleteEnergy! JHo scored 15 of 30 in first quarter. Bass playing like a monster. Mavs getting everything they want and NO can't shoot for sht.
ReplyDeleteJ-Ho had 1/2 the points in Q1. The Mavs are just out hustling the Hornets to every loose ball and are playing great D. The Hornets are shooting under 30%. Bass is been a stud in Q2. The End
ReplyDeleteLet's hope they can keep it up. Hornets look like they have some fire in them now- this has been absent up until this point in the game.
ReplyDeleteshooting is a little cold this quarter, but the D has been pretty good
ReplyDeleteIt just seems like the Hornets are trying to intimidate the Mavs at every opportunity...
ReplyDeleteHoward bringing back the energy he had the last few years has been a great surprise.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely...this is what we have been waiting for out of J-Ho
ReplyDeleteClosed the half poorly.
ReplyDeleteNO has quite a bit more resolve than PHX...disapponting end to the first half.
ReplyDeleteQ2 was pretty shakey...Mavs need to pick it up in the 2nd half...all and all I loved the effort. IMO as long as they keep the effort at a high level they have a good chance tonight
ReplyDeleteYou hit the nail on the head KV, the reason why NO is in the playoffs and PHX is not is the resolve of the players...they don't quit
ReplyDeleteThe Hornets keep chipping away
ReplyDeleteYes. I'm concerned.
ReplyDeleteDirk really hasn't had to do much so far...I expect him to start taking over
ReplyDeleteI think I kinda want to do Flo from the Progressive Insurance commericals
ReplyDeleteKeep attacking the basket
ReplyDeleteI hate Flo.
ReplyDeleteI like Dirk + Jet in the 4th to put this thing away.
Every time they say Sean Marks I think Sean Rooks...different color, but same sucky game
ReplyDeleteByron Scott looks like a skinny version of the dad from the Fresh Prince of Bel Air
ReplyDeleteGreat Block by Bass
ReplyDeleteMy only complaint of the Mavs 2009 2.0 is that they seem to fall in love with the 3 too much. It's great when it's falling (PHX,UTAH), but it could be problem down the road when its not falling, like tonight
ReplyDeleteIt's not over yet
ReplyDeleteFn horrible call. Howard didn't move.
ReplyDeleteCome on. Sloppy.
ReplyDelete100 points wins it
ReplyDeleteF that call
ReplyDeleteseems like NO has been very physical, but we're not getting any calls. Makes me leery of the game in NO.
ReplyDeleteJosh. WOW.
ReplyDeleteF. Dirk- you're 7 ft tall- don't bend over when guarding Paul. on the perimeter
ReplyDeletePaul is hurt...the Russian is cut, he's human after all
ReplyDeletemaybe not
ReplyDeleteDrive to the hole by Dirk...nice
ReplyDeleteNice perimeter passing there. Took off an extra 4 sec.
ReplyDeleteIf they can close this will be a huge win.
ReplyDeleteNice boys. Virtual fist bump. Back to the party. See you on Sunday.
ReplyDeleteSA is about to beat Utah and the Mavs are looking good
ReplyDeleteVirtual Dap in honor of Ammanuel...let's get the get them again Sunday
ReplyDelete
