Trailblazers thread 3/11

Let's start tonight's game with the end of the Suns season. Fun read.

I'm not expecting too much tonight, but it would be huge to go 3-1 on this road trip, though I'll take 2-2.

  1. Like a said last week before this 7 game stretch started, anything less than 5-2 and this team is mediocre at best:

    vs Spurs - W
    @ Hornets - L
    vs Washington - W
    @ Phoenix - W

They need 2 out of the next 3 games before coming home to Detroit.

  2. How do i watch the game on www.channel surfing.

    There's only audio

    ReplyDelete
  3. Never mind its up on NBA broadband

    ReplyDelete
  4. Shiff - was there no lost today?

    ReplyDelete
  5. Followill - "Dampier able to direct it in, not dunk it."

    ReplyDelete
  6. The boys are coming out with energy.

Lets see if they can keep it up.

    ReplyDelete
  7. No new LOST tonight, its an "enhanced" version of last week's episode

    ReplyDelete
  8. I think not getting obliterated by Shaq might have given Erik some confidence.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Dirk's coming out hot...I like it

    ReplyDelete
  10. This is the F'n type of Dallas Maverick basket ball I've waited for all season.

Keep fighting...no give up. Keep it up boys.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Come on Shiff...this is one of the reason's we got Kidd. So he can help Damp catch the ball in places he can make a play.

Put him in positions to make contributions. We know Damp's not an offensive force but if we can make him get some easy buckets to give him a positive attitude...it will pay dividends on the defensive side of the floor.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Mavs need to pick it up on the boards

    ReplyDelete
  13. Lakers and Houston have a good game going right now...at this point I guess we need to root for LA so the Rockets fall back in the pack

    ReplyDelete
  14. FF is doing this F'd up thing where the "post a comment box" doesn't load. Anyone else getting this problem?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Good 1st quarter.

They made it a game with the 3 ball.

    Live by the three....

    ReplyDelete
  16. sloppy quarter by the Mavs. They should be up about 10 right now. Portland shot like crap and still has the lead.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Kevin, I am getting the same problem too. I have been going back to the main page and then going back to the comments

    ReplyDelete
  18. and I am using IE so it must be a Blogger issue

    ReplyDelete
  19. Shiff, works fine in IE. I'm not very impressed with blogspot.

I am impressed with Brandon Bass.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Agreed on sloppiness...but the energy is there.

I think they're in good position.

    These are fixable issues.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Yea, it seems like if you have more than 2 people on the same site it doesn't work right. Fortunately SSL doesn't have that problem

    ReplyDelete
  22. JJB is shooting 31.5% from behind the arc...and 43% from the field. Should be pretty easy for Carlisle to tell him "don't shoot 3s," shouldn't it?

    ReplyDelete
  23. I am more concerned about energy in the 2nd half, like last week during the NO game. Same situation...tough team, back to back, on the road. If they come out like this in the 2nd half then I am sold

    ReplyDelete
  24. Dirk is in the zone right now

    ReplyDelete
  25. I think the Mavs got your message Shiff...they're being more active on the boards

    ReplyDelete
  26. Kevin- I'm having issues on ie as well.

if you hit the thread at the top it will refresh so you can post.

Sucks that you have to do that but it makes it work.

    ReplyDelete
  27. much better effort on the boards. Bass is getting after it

    ReplyDelete
  28. Portland announcers said no foul on Bass.

They said the Blazers just went through the two hands to block the ball.....???

    ReplyDelete
  29. Dirk is putting on a clinic.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I think the Mavs found an offensive play that works

    ReplyDelete
  31. The Mavs are playing with confidence and attitude. I like it

    ReplyDelete
  32. and Vlade will be happy with that

    ReplyDelete
  33. My ie is f'd.

my toolbar just dissapeared and had to google how to get it back.

Glad that yahoo is my homepage.

    Damn intenet porn viruses.

    ReplyDelete
  34. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qictJiTl3d0

    ReplyDelete
  35. The sideline reporter for the Blazers is pretty hot too, Rebecca Harlow

    ReplyDelete
  36. Great Ebrake youtube find.

We need to upgrade this site to put youtube videos like this.

Plus we need to add our own shtick videos (excuse spelling)

    ReplyDelete
  37. I have already thought about putting together a youtube report a la Kige Ramsey

    ReplyDelete
  38. Outstanding 1st half. I'm looking forward to the next 24.

    ReplyDelete
  39. You guys have any thoughts on the widgets/layout/format, etc?

    ReplyDelete
  40. excellent 1st half. I just hope they come out with the same energy in the 2nd half

    ReplyDelete
  41. Great thing about the West being so tight is that every team has to put forth energy.

If the Mavs blow there wadd in the fight...so will everyone else.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Houston and Utah both lost tonight...Mavs need this one

    ReplyDelete
  43. Kevin, if we formed a partnership, could we write off our sports subscriptions (NBA League Pass, NFL Sunday Ticket, MLB Extra Innings, etc)?

    ReplyDelete
  44. For the most part, I'm going to step out of the layout conversation...I don't want to add un-needed input.

You guys have a great handle on it.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Great idea Kevin.

    Its worth a try.

    Are we talking an LLC

    ReplyDelete
  46. Shiff - I really like the current settings, widgets, etc. I love the old school pics for who do we follow, nice work.

As far as the partnership goes...I don't see why not. But we'd need to contribute as a group yearly, rather than pay individually. We could each pitch in $100 per year, and then write it off, which would effectively save $25 per year (depending on your tax rate). Though that would def advance our press pass goals.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Nice energy to start the 2nd half, they just need to keep the foot on the gas pedal and keep the crowd out of it. The Rose Garden is a little quiet

    ReplyDelete
  48. Could we add on the Garner house as an aditional investment under our partnership

    ReplyDelete
  49. Kidd wanted to go behind the back there to Damp...but then he saw it was Damp.

I guess JJB didn't read my post about his 3pt shooting %.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Hell yeah Metta, we gotta have our annual meetings somewhere.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Offensive foul my a**. I think that Portland is poised to make a run here, crowd getting into it, let's hold 'em off.

    Nice TO.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Did you guys check out the article about the Suns I posted above? It's fun to read about someone else's doom and gloom for a change.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I don't mind when JJB takes a wide open 3...I just don't like it when he's got a hand in his face

    ReplyDelete
  54. Great Read, Kevin, thanks for posting. It is hard to believe their window has already closed. 3 years ago I thought they were set for the decade with Amare, Barbosa, Diaw, and Marion...now they are worse off than the Mavs. Nash looks old, and even though Shaq is playing well, I don't expect him to be in Phoenix next season.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Okay, time to stave off the rally. I'd like to see Dirk getting the ball at the elbow next time down the floor.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Dirk needs to quit doing those cheap fouls after he gets the ball stolen, or doesn't get a call

    ReplyDelete
  57. I think that was a good foul there Shiff, on the floor, kept Portland from a breakaway, which is not only an easy 2, but would have launched half the crowd ot of their seats.

    ReplyDelete
  58. In that situation I understand, but it seems that he does commit a lot of fouls out of frustration

    ReplyDelete
  59. At least he's dunking...wish he wouldn't hang on the rim all the time

    ReplyDelete
  60. As far as I am concerned if he can put it in the basket he can hang on the rim as long as he wants

    ReplyDelete
  61. Got to make them pay for doubling Dirk...come on Mavs...help him out.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Metta - you nailed it above. Damp just needs a little confidence to play like a world beater.

Portland getting all the calls this quarter. They are going to run out of steam...just keep them at bay for another 2 min.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Great post move Kidd. Let's do it again if they are gonna put Rodriguez on him.

    ReplyDelete
  64. The Portland announcers might be the masters of the backhanded compliment. After Dirk hit that shot, they were like "Look at him crying at the officials, but I guess thats why he's an 8 time All Star"

    ReplyDelete
  65. Fantastic finish by Kidd there, I admit, I didn't think he'd make it.

Terrible decision by Roy, he could have dribbled for another 1.5 seconds and taken a much better shot. Nice close boys.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Nice finish to the quarter. I think this one is going down to the wire

    ReplyDelete
  67. Lets get Dirk some rest here and keep the lead boys. We are in position..we need to prove that we have that ability to close teams on the road.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Shiff-Tech just came back by 22 to beat A&M

    ReplyDelete
  69. Let's get Dirk a rest here. Time to bring Damp back in v. Pryzbilla.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I'm very concerned about Dirk's stamina here...though the Mavs have been money in close games this year, 13-3 in those decided by 5 points or less.

    ReplyDelete
  71. nice...it's always good to beat the Aggies

    ReplyDelete
  72. If Dirk doesn't sit here then Rick's riding him the entire rest of the way.

    I wish Russell was here.

    ReplyDelete
  73. They gotta give him at least a 2-3 minute rest

    ReplyDelete
  74. I wouldn't mind seeing the Bass/Hollins duo for a few minutes here

    ReplyDelete
  75. Is it just me, or did Devean George fake fall there?

    ReplyDelete
  76. DG...i'm laughing so hard...oh shit.

    ReplyDelete
  77. WTF didn't George pull himself out of the game there? F'n selfish man. Cost us a point and a foul.

    ReplyDelete
  78. NBA Broadband is nice. Finish Devin.

    ReplyDelete
  79. I'm not laughing anymore.

    Here's comes the Bass show.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Unfortunately, I think it was a real fall

    ReplyDelete
  81. Dirk is tired...I would have liked to see him rest through the 3 min TV time out.

Dirk + Jet at 40 shots for the game.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Honestly, if George is out for a while...is it the worst thing in the world? JJB on the other hand would be tough (I would give you $1000 dollars if you knew I would say that before the season started)

    ReplyDelete
  83. I think you are right Kevin. All of Dirk's shots seem a bit short

    ReplyDelete
  84. Dirk will be ok...he knows his body. If he has to he'll figure out a way to get to the line.

    ReplyDelete
  85. LA is so quick that he got juked, was able to jump again, still got a hand in Dirk's face, and Dirk STILL NAILED IT. One more stop boys.

(btw, I'm sitting on the edge of my coffee table, with my laptop)

    ReplyDelete
  86. Next time I take a shot at the bar I'm grabbing my pants like Dirk just did and walk out

    ReplyDelete
  87. That a boy. If anyone can fight through fatigue its Dirk.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Dagger.

As Shiff pointed out a few games ago, Dirk needs to work on the shirt popping a bit.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Cody - GENIUS. Next time I see you let's do it.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Did Kidd foul Outlaw on that scramble for the ball?

    ReplyDelete
  91. Shiff I'm fn grabbing my pants this weekend after every shot.

    Fn awesome...Dirk is the man

    ReplyDelete
  92. I think it was an accidental foul but hard for the refs to see b/c they both dove to the ground.

    ReplyDelete
  93. That would be AWESOME. Great BAR exit idea ever

    ReplyDelete
  94. I don't think Kidd fouled him there, that looked like a good no call to me.

Full time out, all we need is an in-bounds and one free throw.

    ReplyDelete
  95. get it to Dirk and let him ice this bad boy

    ReplyDelete
  96. You think Devin can help us out with a win vs Portland.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Back to back on the road gentelmen...great win.

Lets get some rest and get a 3rd in Oakland on Friday.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Almost forgot.

    Virtual handshake.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Nice. Okay gents, see you Fri night and/or Sun afternoon.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Metta - txt when you land on Fri, let me know what your dinner plans are.

    ReplyDelete
  101. That was a big one. GS on Friday is next and won't be easy with Nellie at the helm. If they win Friday, I might have to think about giving MDS live updates from Staples Center on Sunday

    ReplyDelete
  102. If you do live updates...I'm on an early flight back to Denver.

Talk to you boys Friday evening.

    Later boys.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Later boys...let's keep this train rolling!

    ReplyDelete
