At 35 years old you would think T.O. would take less money to go to a contender for the Super Bowl....Maybe no front runners were interested or thought he was such a cancer in lockeroom his abiltiy on the field was not worth the risk. Either way, if he has any pride he has to be very disappointed to be finishing his career receiving passes from Trent Edwards and JP Losman.

Nice closing line Jason.
ReplyDeleteI really don't think that TO was the problem. Jerry is becoming more and more delusional every year. His need for acceptance and control is crippling this franchise. I think that TO was popping off in the locker room, but if we had a coach with a backbone, not a hamburger loving, buttermilk drinking, awkward high-fiving puppet, this wouldn't have been an issue. I also think that Romo is a bit soft in that regard, but he's young and will grow into the role. I don't buy into this TO v. Romo/Witten BS. A stronger coaching staff would have dealt with this. But that's hard to do with Jerry insisting on inviting his buddies to the suites every Sunday AND calling all the shots. Let's face it, that 13-3 team was Parcells' doing.
I still love the talent on this team, but I don't like Jerry in the GM chair. If you haven't seen the Hansen interview, check it out a few posts below.
Agree. TO seemed to be behaving like a self-centered receiver, but Jerry was the big problem. I don't think he'll ever change. The Cowboys are going to be a victim of Jerry's early success for a long time.
ReplyDeleteWord is that the coaches talked to TO before being signed that El Dorado will be the number 2 w/the Bills. Lee Evans will remain the featured receiver.
