My thoughts: this could be great for this season, particularly with how Shaq is playing, but we do still have the problem of him only playing 1 of 2 nights on back to back games. Who do we plug in behind him? Diop Diop is gone... is there anyone else on the roster who can fill this spot?

I don't know, I'm kinda intrigued. I gotta believe that Shaq, Dirk & Kidd would be able to make a run this year or next (all we'd have to do Jan is make the playoffs, Shaq can rest pretty regularly), though I don't know if the Suns want to play all of next year with Dampier just to save money in '10-'11.
ReplyDeleteI do agree with the comments on the story link, b/c Skin is starting to get really really annoying.
I'm not sayint I'm against it- actually I think it would be great to see Shaq in a Mavs uniform. I just don't know if it will pan out as awesome as some think. Yeah- he'll get to rest in the playoffs, but we have to make it there first.
ReplyDeleteI do think he'll be super motivated like he was with Miami if he got here. And he has actually looked remarkably quick on his feet this season.
I guess we'll see. I won't get my hopes up though.
I just saying if you can get Shaq by only having to give up Dampier and Stack with Shaq coming off the books after next season then it is worth a shot. Shaq would be a vast improvement over Dampier offensively and stop some of the double teams on Dirk.
